Greater Danbury Point In Time Homeless Count Set For January 26, 2011
The annual Greater Danbury Point In Time Count of persons who are homeless will take place on January 26, 2011 from 7 pm to 11 pm. The count is implemented by the Greater Danbury Continuum of Care in coordination with the Connecticut Coalition To End Homelessness. The Point In Time Workgroup is led this year by Michele Conderino, Director of Homeless Services for Catholic Family Services.
The purpose of the count is to identify all persons who are homeless in the Greater Danbury area. The data derived from the count is crucial in determining the amount of Federal and State aid to be directed to the region as well as in developing strategies and programs to address the needs of persons who are homeless in the region. Volunteers are needed to assist in identifying potential locations of persons who are homeless as well as conducting field surveys to complete standard questionaires designed to identify the number of homeless persons and the need for services to address homelessness in the region.
For more information about the Point In Time Count or to volunteer to assist the effort please call Michele Conderino at 203-748-0848 or Sue Zaborowski at 203-797-4627.
