Danbury Housing Partnership Community Breakfast
Danbury Housing Partnership Chair Mark J. Nolan announced the recipients of the Third Annual Danbury Housing Partnership Awards at the Annual Community Breakfast held in Danbury on October 7, 2010. Danbury Mayor Mark D. Boughton and United States Congressman Christopher Murphy were on hand to present the recipients with their awards. The awards were established in 2008 to encourage efforts to create housing opportunities in the Danbury region by recognizing the work of area organizations, businesses and indiividuals to strengthen local communities, create affordable housing, provide supportive services and implement the Ten-Year Plan To End Homelessness. Award recipients for 2010 are:
Community Partnership Award: Housing Authority of the City of Danbury; Domenico M. Chieffalo, Chairman
Presented to a person or agency that develops affordable or supportive housing; advances the Partnership's goals of encouraging the creation of affordable or senior housing or makes other significant contributions towards implementing the goals and objectives of Danbury'sTen-Year Plan To End Homelessness.
Supportive Services Award: Catholic Charities Homeless Outreach Team; Al Barber, President
Presented to a person or group that provides case management services to persons who are homeless, assists in housing placement or retention and assists in the implementation of the goals and objectives of Danbury's Ten-Year Plan To End Homelessness.
Business Partnership Award: Patrick Walsh, Walsh Catering Incorporated
Presented to an organization, business or business representative that has made contributions in the area of supportive or affordable housing or has made other significant contributions towards ending homelessness in the Danbury region consistent with the Ten-Year Plan To End Homelessness.
