Dream Homes Community Center (DHCC) was formed by a collaboration of four lead community agencies:  The Association of Religious Communities (ARC), the Housing Authority of the City of Danbury (HACD), Western Connecticut Association for Human Rights (WeCAHR) and People First of Connecticut.   Establishment of DHCC was a major recommendation of the Mayor’s Taskforce on Homelessness and DHCC is an important component of Danbury’s Ten-Year Plan To End Homelessness.  The City of Danbury provides financial support for the operations of DHCC.  HACD no longer serves on the lead team, but continues significant support of Dream Homes through the provision of housing assistance vouchers.

Dream Homes Community Center involves three major program areas:

1.  Serves as the Point of Entry for people seeking housing services because they are homeless, at risk of becoming homeless or have been recently housed after previously being homeless and in need of supportive services.

2.  Provides assistance to people seeking affordable rental housing

3.  Provides counseling and assistance to lower-income people to become first-time homebuyers.

Dream Homes Community Center is housed at the offices of the Association of Religious Communities located at 325 Main Street, Danbury, CT  06810.  ARC also serves as the fiduciary agent for DHCC.   Office hours for DHCC are 10am to 5pm on Monday through Friday.  DHCC can be reached by phone at 203-792-9450 or by email at arc325@sbcglobal.net
